OWdle Classic guide

A guide to the eight attribute grid: what each tile compares, how the Age, Year, and HP arrows read, and when to spend a hint.

How Classic works

Type any Overwatch hero into the search box. Each guess returns eight attribute tiles: Role, Origin, Affiliation, Species, Gender, Age, Year, and HP. Five are exact matches that come back green or red. Age, Year, and HP also turn amber when your guess is close, with an arrow pointing toward the answer. You have eight guesses, and two optional hints along the way.

Strategy

  1. 01

Open with a hero you know cold

Five of the eight tiles (Role, Origin, Affiliation, Species, Gender) are exact green-or-red reads. Your first guess is mostly an elimination probe, so pick a hero whose attributes you can recall without second-guessing.

  2. 02

Read the arrows on Age, Year, and HP

Those three tiles turn amber when you are close and show an arrow. An amber Year with a down arrow means the answer released earlier than your guess. Use the arrows to bracket the number instead of guessing blind.

  3. 03

    Pivot on what stayed red

Once a couple of guesses green a few tiles, your next pick should differ specifically on the red ones. Chasing small variations of the same archetype burns guesses without moving the unsolved tiles.

  4. 04

Hold hints for a genuine wall

Two optional hints are available as you go, each behind a confirm so you never spend one by accident. Keep them until you are actually stuck rather than front-loading them on an easy day.

Tips

  • Role is the highest-value tile: it splits the roster into Tank, Damage, and Support in a single read.
  • Origin and Affiliation often move together, so a green on one narrows the other.
  • The board persists across the day. Refresh or come back later and your tiles are intact.
