OWdle Sound guide
A guide to the growing voice clip: what the first fragment gives you, and why the original-language audio is a fair clue.
How Sound works
You hear a fragment of a hero voice line, often under a second at the start. Each wrong guess extends the clip so more of the line plays. You have eight attempts. Dialogue plays in its original language, so a hero's accent is a fair and deliberate clue.
Strategy
- 01
Lead with accent, not words
The opening fragment is short on purpose. Before you can make out the line, you can usually place the accent or language, which alone cuts the roster down hard.
- 02
Let a miss buy you more audio
There is no penalty beyond the guess itself, and each miss extends the clip. If you are torn between two heroes, guessing the less likely one still hands you a longer line to judge the other.
- 03
Learn the loud, game-defining lines first
The lines you die to in-game, ultimate callouts especially, are the ones worth committing to memory. They show up here, and they are the fastest solves once you know them.
Tips
- Audio plays in the hero's original language, so accent is signal, not noise.
- Headphones help. The early fragments carry detail that phone speakers flatten.
- This was the first mode OWdle ever shipped, and it rewards regular play more than any other.
